The NUP-WiSTEM team of the Department of Computer Science at Neapolis University Pafos invites you to a special educational presentation with an interactive workshop, dedicated to Unreal Engine 5, the game development engine redefining the creation of digital experiences and interactive content. Special emphasis is placed on highlighting the presence of women in game development, promoting equal participation, empowerment and their visibility in fields of technological and scientific innovation.

As part of the NUP-WiSTEM initiative, Neapolis University Pafos welcomed the 3rd grade students of the 3rd Primary School of Limassol to its premises, as part of an educational visit that took place on 26 January 2026.

The central focus of the activity was an interactive educational robotics workshop, specially designed for primary school students. The workshop was implemented in collaboration with academic staff and undergraduate students from the Department of Computer Science.

The NUP-WiSTEM team (Neapolis University Pafos – Women in STEM) of the Department of Computer Science at Neapolis University Pafos actively participated in the seminar titled «Educational & Career Choices in STEM Sciences», organised by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) and CEPIS, in collaboration with ten universities in Cyprus and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth.

The event took place in Nicosia, bringing together academics, educators, researchers and professionals from the fields of education and technology, with the aim of exchanging views and best practices for strengthening education and career prospects in STEM sciences (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The two academic heads of the NUP-WiSTEM initiative of the Department of Computer Science actively participated in the seminar's proceedings, contributing to the substantive dialogue on the critical role of educators in shaping the career choices of young people in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening girls' participation in STEM fields, as well as creating educational environments that encourage the development of digital, analytical and scientific skills from an early age.

During the seminar, activities of the NUP-WiSTEM initiative were also presented, which promotes the empowerment of girls and young women in STEM fields through awareness actions, mentoring, educational workshops and collaborations with schools and educational organisations.

The NUP-WiSTEM team had the honor of participating, through one of its academic members, in a particularly important event dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women.

We warmly congratulate Tasos Antoniadis for his meaningful contribution and his role in the public dialogue on equality, respect, and the role of society in shaping a more just and inclusive future.

The event clearly highlighted that a society’s progress is not only economic or technological, but above all human and cultural, based on respect, acceptance, and inclusion.

NUP-WiSTEM continues to support and promote initiatives that strengthen gender equality, women’s empowerment, and their participation in STEM fields.
